Recruiting

To Do List for College Bound Athlete

1.  University Athlete  This is FREE for athletes and is what most universities and recruiters use to search and organize recruits at events.  You are autmatically listed in UA as part of our club, however, go in and be sure your profile is updated and accurate.  You can also put your video links right into your UA profile.  You can edit this profile for free.

2.  Take the ACT and the SAT exams.

3.  Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center (formally called the NCAA Clearinghouse).

REMEMBER YOUR USER NAME & PASSWORD!  You will have to access this periodically through your Jr. and Sr. years.  This can be done as early as FRESHMAN year.  You will need to have your OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS sent for all four years of high school curriculum.  Put this request in with you High School counselor at the conclusion of each year.

4.  Organize the college info you receive.  Be sure to take notes on conversations you have with college coaches, especially any potential dates for a visit, but also noting points of interest or things that resonated with you during dialog so that you can easily recall conversations keeping coaches and schools straight.  Follow up with the colleges you are interested in and also the colleges you have ruled out in your search.  Return any information sent to you from schools which is applicable.  BE PROACTIVE!   Don't just wait for schools to come to you!
